About Us

Great Oak studio is a small music studio below grade.
Next to the church steeple of Rotselaar, you can disappear underground, leaving the sunlight behind closed doors and setting off in search of your next creative delight without having any limitations.

The story behind Great Oak finds its roots in the South of France. On his annual holiday to Salernes, founder Joris Longin writes most of his songs for his own project “Long Gone” underneath a big, beautiful oak tree in the garden of his holiday home.
The first song he wrote under this tree was named “The Great Oak”. And thus began Joris’ passion for writing, recording and that one great oak.

When the elaboration of The Great Oak started to evolve, Joris and Steven chose for a one room studio where the console and the engineer are next to the musicians. A conscious choice so you can look someone in the eye, talk to them openly and share the same vibe. All in that one room.
